WINCHESTER'S Homebase is likely to remain open after a list of stores on auction has been published.
The home improvement chain collapsed into administration earlier this month, with Teneo appointed to manage it after it suffered financial difficulties linked to declining consumer spending, high inflation, and supply chain disruptions.
Administrators struck a deal to sell 70 stores to retail group CDS, which owns The Range and Wilko, saving up to 1,600 jobs.

The remaining 74 stores have until the end of next week to be purchased, including stores in Basingstoke, Bracknell, Hull, Farnham, Essex and Gloucester.
Seventy of the stores will turn into The Range - a home, leisure and garden superstore.
Winchester's Homebase branch has not been put on the list and will remain open, the Chronicle understands. It is yet to be confirmed whether it will turn into The Range under its new owner.
Homebase has been contacted for comment and confirmation.
