FORECASTERS have warned that heavy rain may cause disruption and flooding this weekend. 

After the cold snap brought flurries of snow to the county, Storm Bert is set to bring wet and windy conditions. 

A yellow weather warning has been issued and is in place from 6am on Saturday, November 23, until 11.45pm on Sunday, November 24. 

Forecasters have warned that the heavy rain from Storm Bert may cause some travel disruption and flooding.

At the time of writing, heavy rain is forecast from 6am on Saturday and is expected to last until 9am on Sunday. Of course, this is subject to change. 

What to expect?

  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads
