Edward said: "We're finishing out building work this Friday [November 22] and we're due to open on 2nd December.
"We've been looking to come to Winchester for a long time, really [and], hopefully, we'll be able to satisfy some hungry customers!"
With Nandos moving into the unit next doory the Chronicle asked if Five Guys was concerned with competition, but the construction manager said: "We'll complement with Nandos as well, so there'll be some more offerings for locals."
The construction manager, who has been involved with the chain for a decade, said Five Guys has 171 restaurants in the UK.
It was opened in 1986 by three brothers in Washington D.C., but it has grown to have more than 1,800 places worldwide.
In any given week, the company says, customers are given more than 260,000 peanuts and more than 165 million burgers are cooked annually.
