Romsey Male Voice Choir and Romsey Voices are teaming up for a festive charity concert in aid of Ukraine.

The concert will be held on Friday, December 20, at 7.30pm at St Michael and All Angels Church in Lyndhurst.

The event is being led by musical director Marion Maxey.

Kevin Cleary, chairman of Romsey Male Voice Choir, expressed delight at the choirs returning to the Lyndhurst church, which he described as "wonderful and generous".

Rousing, toe-tapping and fun, with the added important bonus the evening will raise much needed money for the people of Ukraine, and that is the best gift we can give."

Concert tickets are priced at £10, with under 18s at £5, and are available online from ticketsource.co.uk/romseymvc or from the Romsey Visitor Information Centre.

Founded in 1995 by Keith Lawrenson and the late John Taylor, Romsey Male Voice Choir now boasts a membership of more than 60.

As the choir approaches its 30-year milestone in 2025, it has gained a reputation as one of the finest male choirs in the South.

The choir has performed in diverse venues, including Winchester, Truro and Lichfield cathedrals, the Royal Albert Hall, The Anvil in Basingstoke, The Lighthouse in Poole, the Mayflower Theatre and Cornwall's Eden Project.

The choir has also toured France, Jersey, Manchester, Cardiff and Nottingham, among other places.

The choir's repertoire is known for its variety in pace, language and genre, with new scores regularly added.

The Romsey Male Voice Choir and Romsey Voices' Christmas concert promises to deliver a festive atmosphere while also supporting a worthy cause.

The choirs are inviting people to "sing, soak up the music and have fun," while also encouraging continued support for those in need in Ukraine.
