Paultons Park has revealed plans for a £1.5m solar project.
The Ower family theme park, home to Peppa Pig World, aims to increase its on-site electricity generation to 35 per cent of its annual usage.
The project involves the construction of solar carport canopies over two car parks and the installation of additional solar roof panels on 11 existing park buildings.
A 430KWh battery energy storage facility (BESS) will also be installed, allowing the park to store and use generated electricity during periods when solar energy is not produced, such as at night.

Lawrence Mancey, marketing and technology director at Paultons Park, said: "I am delighted to see our solar plans coming to life, which we aim to complete by February 2025. At present, around eight per cent of our electricity usage is generated on-site through solar panels.
"This investment unlocks the ability to raise that figure to 35 per cent and is a significant step forward in our sustainability journey.
"Delivery of our solar carports is the first major phase in a larger project to reduce our impact on the planet and enhance our green initiatives."

The park has set an ambition to ultimately generate at least 50 per cent of its power requirements within its Paultons Promise manifesto.
A variety of sustainable initiatives are already in place at the park, including two grass-roofed buildings, water usage reduction technologies and the implementation of energy-efficient building materials.
Mr Mancey added: "As a business, we’re continually seeking ways to enhance our guest experience and business operations. Our ‘Paultons Promise’ underpins our commitment to the environment, our community and the wellbeing of our team and guests.
"Paultons Park has delighted generations of families for over 40 years, helping them create unforgettable memories here in the beautiful New Forest.
"We’re fully committed to playing our part in helping to preserve and protect our environment for many more generations of families to come."
