A ROMSEY man has been slapped with a community order after he pleaded guilty to making thousands of indecent images of children.
Andrew Baxter, 56, of Stapleford Close, was caught with more than 1,500 indecent pictures of a child in Southampton on November 21, 2021, a court heard.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 3, Baxter pleaded guilty to the offence.

The court heard that Baxter had created 1,500 Category C images, as well as 22 Category B images.
On Wednesday, November 13, Baxter was sentenced and was given a community order, ordering him to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 25 Days. He must also complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also handed a sexual harm prevention order of five years.
