I NOTE county councillor Adams-King proposes to increase bus usage. Have councillors actually used buses? Should they not carry out a survey to discover why people don't use buses? I have a bus pass and rarely use the bus.

One reason, I have arthritis and a double-decker bus has 12 accessible seats downstairs and 14 seats which have to be accessed by a steep step - Why is this? I have asked but no one seems to know. It has two spaces for buggies and one disabled vehicle.

The majority of seating is upstairs, with drunk passengers, noisy phones, loud phone calls, it's not very clean, and very slow.

Earlier in the year I caught the number 3 bus from Southampton Bargate to Eastleigh. You can do the drive in 20 minutes, but the bus took 90 minutes. Not because of any problems.

The 12 route is through Thornhill, Hedge End, Botley, Boorley Green and Fair Oak.

My grandson asks if we were ever going to get there. People want speed, efficiency, and cleanliness. Buses need a conductor late at night to control drunks.
