A WINCHESTER man has been slapped with a community order, to stay off alcohol for 11 weeks, for engaging in threatening behaviour.
Alex Jeary, 33, of Burstall Gardens, Kings Barton, threatened Vijay Gowthaman on Saturday, August 10, a court heard.
Magistrates also heard that Jeary stole £25.85 worth of alcoholic drinks from Tesco on August 10, and that he damaged a police van on August 11.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 29, Jeary pleaded guilty to the crimes.
Jeary has been given a community order to abstain from alcohol for 80 days, and must complete a rehabilitation activity, complying with the instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments, or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of six days.
He must also pay £100 compensation.
