ROMSEY planners have objected to a retrospective application for a fence outside a house.
Terry Vincent, of Riverside Gardens, applied to Test Valley Borough Council for retrospective permission to add a new fence to the front and side of his property.
According to planning documents, the fence was erected in August.
Romsey Town Council’s planning committee discussed the application on Thursday, November 14, and decided to object.
Cllr Mark Cooper said: “I think (the fence) would be better if it was one metre (in height).

Cllr John Parker said: “I don’t like it. It is creating an enclosed view around the estate. The design statement says that high walls and fences should be avoided where they will be intrusive – I find the high fence to be intrusive."
Cllr Ian Culley said: “I agree. It is a bad precedent.”
The council voted to file an objection to the planning application.
