Residents are being urged to keep lights on this winter to deter burglars.
Hampshire Police has launched a new campaign, 'Lights On' to advise residents on how to keep their homes safe this winter.
The campaign is asking residents to turn on lights so their absence isn't easy to spot by criminals.
In a Hampshire Alert, PC Will Andrews said: "The campaign revolves around home security and not making your property an easy target for burglars and thieves.
"As the nights have started to close in, this is especially relevant to the winter months.

By leaving a few lights on, the police say, homes look occupied as thieves are more likely to target homes that appear dark.
The police have also recommended buying timer switches and gadgets which will help turn main lights on and off. Energy saving light bulbs will help keep bills down.
Residents are also reminded to lock all windows and doors.
