MATT Stirling, actor, stunt man and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist, wowed guests and diners with his magic tricks at a very special event at The Roebuck Inn, Fulflood.

Matt Stirling is a friend of the pub's owners, Sarah Nubeebuckus-Jones and Adrian (Ade) Jones and was delighted to support them by entertaining guests on Saturday, November 2.

Sarah said: “Matt is a friend of ours. We’ve known him for 16 years and his mates sound like a who’s who of the acting world.”

Sarah and Ade invited Matt to The Roebuck for this special up-close-and-personal performance where he displayed several complex and baffling tricks that grew more extraordinary as the evening went on.

He started with card tricks which created much head-scratching, before helping guests to bend forks, move marks on people’s hands and make coins appear under people’s watch straps.

He then seemingly read people’s minds by accurately predicting the names of their old childhood friends, causing gasps of shock and amazement.

He was also happy to talk about his current filming work including Young Shylock directed by Guy Ritchie, Cleaner with Daisy Ridley, and an action film with Jamie Foxx to be released soon. He has also spent ten days filming with actor Clive Owen who he described as ‘fantastic to work with’.

In the past Matt has worked on Fast and Furious, a series of Games of Thrones and the Bourne Ultimatum.

One attendee, Lizzi Field, said: "Matt was brilliant and blew our minds away with the magic. He was really engaging and very friendly, wanting to stop and chat to get to know everyone there. The food was restaurant quality with a warm welcome from lovely landlords. Can’t wait for them to arrange another event!"

When they took over the running of the pub in September, Sarah and Ade stated their aim to run a "proper pub" for the local community, which included a grand opening party.

Sarah and Ade have been running pubs together since 2006, coming in as managers of The Roebuck Inn for The Little Pub Group in mid-December last year.
