A MOTORIST has been banned from the road for two years after pleading guilty to failing to stop after an accident.

Alex-James L'Heureux, 34, of Frog Grove Lane, near Guildford, was driving a Volkswagon Golf in Cromwell Road, Stanmore, on Sunday, August 4 when he failed to stop after hitting another vehicle, a court heard.

The court also heard that L'Heureux was driving while above the legal drink-drive limit, with a breath test at the time returning a result of 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than double the legal limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 3, he pleaded guilty to the crimes.
