Actor Vincent Franklin will bring a solo performance of A Christmas Carol to Thornden Hall in Chandler's Ford.

Best known for his roles in Happy Valley, The Thick Of It, Cucumber and Gentleman Jack, Franklin is stepping into more than 30 characters for this adaptation of Dickens' performance script.

Frankling brings to life the world’s most infamous miser, four ghosts and dozens of other extraordinary characters in this much-loved seasonal tale.

The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by his dead business partner on Christmas Eve and given a chance to alter his future with the help of three ghosts.

Directed by Audrey Cooke, who is noted for TV hits like Trigger Point and I May Destroy You, the show promises to be a unique take on the classic tale.

The new adaptation of Dickens’ own performance script has is expected to "chill your blood and warm your heart".

Franklin, who has just completed filming the Doctor Who spin-off The War Between The Land and The Sea, will also be offering a free audiobook download of A Christmas Carol for ticket holders.

The performance will take place on Monday, December 16 at 7.30pm and has an age recommendation of 11 and up.
