A Winchester nursery has raised nearly £200 for charity by hosting a weekend pumpkin patch event.

Children, parents and staff at West Downs Day Nursery, in Romsey Road, hosted the event to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Families attended the nursery to pick pumpkins and carve them at a special carving station.

The raffle raised £199 for the British Heart Foundation, which will help fund research into congenital heart disease.

West Downs business administrator Anna Kenrick said: "Our colleagues pulled out all the stops to make the pumpkin patch as special as possible for our families, and everyone had such a fantastic time.

"This was a brilliant opportunity to get together and make lasting memories, all whilst helping such a fantastic cause."

West Downs has adopted the British Heart Foundation for a year-long fundraising drive, with the pumpkin patch event contributing to the ongoing effort.

The British Heart Foundation is a charity that aids research and support for heart and circulatory diseases, aiming to improve the lives of those affected.
