THE latest Sutton Scotney Community Café has successfully raised funds for Blood Cancer UK.

The café filled all 17 tables, with folk from near and far; regulars, newbies, walkers, cyclists, groups, and even two community police officers from Alresford coming along for coffee and cake. The café took £214 in sales, along with £306 in donations and a further £35 donations since the café on Wednesday, so will be sending a sum of £555 to BCUK this year.

The next Sutton Scotney Community Café will be at Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney, from 9.30am to 12noon on Wednesday, November 20.  This month the café will be raising funds for the Victoria Hall.  The hall is a very important asset for the community and is used by many local groups for different clubs, activities and one-off events.

Come along to support the community café, which is staffed entirely by volunteers.  All the cakes are homemade, there is real coffee and plenty of free parking!  As well having a gluten free cake option every month, the café also has delicious homemade biscotti and a savoury offering.  All the cakes are available to eat-in or takeaway – in fact some of the regulars bring their own takeaway containers!  The café is cash only.
