I WAS intrigued to read Cllr Adams-King’s comments on the new government’s budget in this week’s paper (Budget 'deeply disappointing', Advertiser, November 1). Certainly the state of our economy is dire and some of the new government's plans are going to be painful for many.
Yet I don't recall having seen much commentary from him on the plethora of catastrophic cutbacks from the preceding five Conservative governments. Has he just noticed the huge impact national government decisions have on us all?
Perhaps he has undertaken an economics training course in his new role as leader of Hampshire County Council.
Hopefully, his new-found knowledge will help him fix the mess that his Tory-run council has got itself into during the last 14 years of Conservative national misrule. I wish him luck.
