A FORMER Hampshire country pub and French fine-dining restaurant is up for sale.
Leckford Hutt, formerly a pub before becoming the Clos du Marquis, a French fine-dining restaurant which The Independent once called "one of the best eateries in the county", is on the market with a guide price of £820,000.
Sitting on the A30, the arrow-straight Roman road between Sutton Scotney and Stockbridge, the building is being sold as a "freehold former public house/hospitality property with Airbnb annexe and private living accommodation".
The current owners closed the restaurant a few years ago, continuing to live on the premises while also using it as a bed and breakfast and events facility.

Savills described the property as follows: "A detached two-storey public house above street level of brick construction under a pitched tile and slate roof. There is a good-sized single-storey extension under a pitched slate roof to the rear, with smaller extensions to the side.
"Within the plot is a detached timber frame annexe accommodation building under a pitched slate roof. The property benefits from a mature landscaped private garden and car park within a plot of approximately 0.426 acres (0.172 hectares).
"The property's closest town, Stockbridge, is well known for its collection of high-quality pubs, restaurants and boutique retail units and set within a historic, characterful High Street. The area is world-famous for its chalk streams running from the River Test and fly fishing."
Chris Bickle is overseeing the sale for Savills. He can be contacted at cbickle@savills.com.
