ROMSEY Town Council’s planning committee has discussed a number of applications at its latest meeting.
Councillors considered 19 applications on Thursday, October 24.
The committee, chaired by Cllr John Critchley, decided that it would object to plans to build a new battery storage facility at land on Upton Lane, as well as a retrospective application to turn a house in to two flats in Allan Grove.
The committee also decided to object to plans to reduce an oak tree on land southeast of Abbotswood House, Braishfield Road, due to a lack of documents with the application.

A change of use application by I Wanna Be Roleplay in Abbotswood Common Road was supported by the councillors. If approved by Southern Area Planning, this application will allow the business to stay open until 10.30pm.
Member had no objections to any of the other applications discussed.
Justine Brunnschweiler, of Longacre Farm, Sandy Lane, has applied for permission to construct a two-storey front porch and two front facing pitched roof dormers, as well as adding and making alterations to windows and doors.
William Akerman, of The Hundred, has applied to remove an existing wooden panel garden fence and a section of dilapidated existing brick footings to a former wall and replace it with a new brick wall.
Stuart Ray, of Eldridge Gardens, is planning to convert a garage to form a utility area including bricking up of opening, new window and lean-to cycle store.
Mr A Matthes, of Sandy Lane, applied to vary conditions on application 23/03228/FULLS. This application concerns demolishing a house and building a new four-bedroom detached house with associated access and landscaping.
Sally Couzens, of Priestlands, has applied to have off road parking for mobility vehicle and a dropped kerb added to her property.
Samantha Butler, of Ashfield, has applied for investigation works to take place to an internal wall of her property, in preparation for repair works to be undertaken.

Alma Road Surgery has applied for permission to add a rear roof dormer extension with the addition of rooflights to the front roof slope. The council decided not to object to the plans, with Cllr Mark Cooper noting that the surgery has a quick patient turnaround.
The committee also raised no objections to Mr and Mrs Talwar’s application to add a single-storey rear extension and new second-floor dormer windows to their property in Sandy Lane.
The other applications discussed work to various trees around Romsey.
The next meeting of the Romsey Town Council Planning Committee will be held on Thursday, November 14.
