A SPARSHOLT man has been slapped with a restraining order for stalking a woman for almost three months.

Thomas Tilbury, 34, of Bostock Close, stalked a woman between Sunday, May 26 and Thursday, August 22, a court heard.

This included messaging the woman on Facebook and leaving a gift bag outside her home.

On Friday, August 23, Tilbury pleaded guilty to the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.

On Wednesday, October 23, a restraining order was issued, preventing him from contacting the woman either directly or indirectly - the order is in effect until October 22, 2026.

Tilbury was also given a community order. He must comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments (with the responsible officer or someone else nominated by them), or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 30 days.

He must also do 120 hours worth of unpaid work within 12 months.

Tilbury must also pay a £114 victim surcharge and costs of £85. The total amount of £199 must be paid in full by November 20.
