A DONATION from the Peter Cooper Motor Group Foundation has helped the Murray Parish Trust new equipment for the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
The £5,000 donation went towards purchasing two OmiVista interactive projectors for the children’s department.
The purchase was facilitated by the Hampshire Medical Fund who approached the Murray Parish Trust for help buying the projectors as part of its mission to buy equipment for local hospitals that is outside the scope of the NHS budgets.

The OmiVista interactive projector is a piece of technology designed to transform any space into an interactive environment and is already making a impact on the mental health and well-being of young patients during what can often be a stressful and anxious time.
By projecting images and games onto the floor or ceiling, the projector allows children to interact with the visuals through touch and movement.
This provides a distraction for young patients, helping to alleviate anxiety and create a more positive and calming atmosphere while they wait for medical care.
Darren Cooper, managing director at the Peter Cooper Motor Group, said: “We were delighted to donate to the Murray Parish Trust for this special equipment for children at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. It’s been wonderful to see the interactive technology first hand and seeing the difference it makes to children in what is a stressful time and often a scary environment for them.”
Sam Robson, head of operations at the Murray Parish Trust, said: “We are incredibly grateful to The Peter Cooper Motor Group Foundation for their continued support and generosity. Their commitment to our cause has enabled us to bring this innovative solution to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, making a real difference in the lives of children and their families.

“For children, a hospital can be an overwhelming and frightening place. The stress of being unwell, combined with the unfamiliar surroundings and uncertainty, can heighten their anxiety. The Omi Vista interactive projectors offer a welcome relief and help children to focus on something enjoyable rather than their immediate worries.”
Sam continued: “At The Murray Parish Trust, our mission is to enhance the healthcare experience for children across our region, and projects like this one are a testament to what we can achieve with the support of our amazing donors and partners. Together, we are creating a brighter, healthier future for our children.”
Jo McGivern, from the Hampshire Medical Fund, added: “Our mission is to buy our local hospitals innovative equipment that falls outside the scope of the NHS’s tight budget. We were delighted this year to help fulfil the request for the OmiVista and it is great to see them helping to calm and distract children before and during scary or painful clinical procedures, creating an environment that not only supports the physical health of young patients but also nurtures their emotional well-being. Huge thanks must go to the Peter Cooper Motor Group Foundation.”
