A popular pub in Hampshire has been refurbished and reopened under new ownership.

The Hunters Inn on Winchester Hill has been shut since September 29, but welcomed customers back to the rustic venue at midday on October 25.

New owners Taste The World plan to burst back onto the scene with an official launch party on November 1 yet the pub was fully booked for food yesterday within two hours of opening.

The Hunters Inn has been gutted while closed, with a brand kitchen, cellar and beer taps fitted to ensure a perfect pint.

A massive grass beer garden out the back of the pub seems set to be perfect for the summer while a tiled area offers a nice alternative to those wanting to sit outside.

Speaking previously to the Daily Echo about renovations, general manager Ben Robbins, 40, made it clear that pubs have to change all the time to keep up with customers’ demands.

Ben said: “When we got the keys, we realised the kitchen wasn’t up to standard to what we wanted to do in terms of kit and layout. We’ve spent two weeks gutting the kitchen getting it ready to go.

“It’s written in the press how hard it is in hospitality right now, with the cost of living crisis, but if you can make sure you don’t stay stagnant, you’ve got a much better chance in the current predicament.

"We will rotate our menu around once a week, even if it’s just one dish that changed."

The Hunters Inn have already introduced a gluten-free ale on tap after customers asked about their food alternatives on social media.
