A new business aimed at helping women navigate fashion challenges during menopause has launched in Winchester.

The Wardrobe Whisperer, founded by Emma Arkell, is a personal styling and wardrobe decluttering service dedicated to supporting women going through menopause.

The focus is to help women, who often face physical and psychological changes during this period, regain confidence by making fashion choices that suit their evolving body shapes and preferences.

In the UK, around 13 million women are currently peri- or menopausal, equivalent to a third of the entire female population.

Emma's role as The Wardrobe Whisperer involves identifying styles and colours that best suit the client during this changing phase and helping them remove items that no longer serve them.

The ultimate aim is for the client to have a fully functioning wardrobe that boosts their confidence.

One client said after her appointment: "I was at a crisis in my life where I didn’t know what to wear any more or what to buy. Emma was an angel who just completely transformed my outlook on clothes.

"From her wonderful calm demeanour to her understanding of one’s shape and suitable colours, Emma helped me sort out my clothes and cupboards once and for all."

Appointments happen in the client's home, with a half-day service (three hours) costing £150, and a full-day service (six hours) priced at £250.

There is an additional charge for travel beyond a 20-mile radius from Emma's home in the Winchester area.

A personal shopping service is also offered to fill any gaps identified during the decluttering process.

As a passionate advocate for the planet, Emma ensures that unwanted items are either donated to the client's local charity of choice or recycled, ensuring nothing goes to landfill.

Having lived in the Winchester area for 17 years, Emma has vast experience in fashion retail and styling.

In her mid-fifties, she can easily identify with the issues faced by her clients, and it was this that inspired her to create The Wardrobe Whisperer.
