A family support charity has teamed up with a well-known artist to create a special Christmas card.

Home-Start Winchester and Districts has collaborated with artist and teacher Daphne Vaughan to produce this year’s card, titled Santa has lost his sleigh.

The charity has previously used Daphne's illustrations on its cards but this year, she has made a "substantial grant" towards the charity.

Daphne founded the charity Know Thyself after the death of her son, and now helps people overcome stress and anxiety in the workplace.

"We work across the UK to raise funds for our partner charities, as well as raising awareness of mental health issues ourselves."

Home-Start Winchester recently highlighted the levels of stress, depression and loneliness felt by young parents.

Home-Start trustee Chrissie Barlow said: "Our work is vital in the early years of a child’s life to help shape the adult that they will become.

"Our charities share common aims and it is a delight to be able to work with Daphne on this year’s charity Christmas card."

Packs of 10 cards, retailing at £5, will be available from the Cards for Good Causes shop in The Brooks, Wells Bookshop and Warrens from Monday, November 4.
