An MP and the leader of Hampshire County Council have cleaned vandalised speed cameras on the A36.
After complaints from residents that green paint had been thrown over the lenses of the two speed cameras on the A36, Romsey and Southampton North MP Caroline Nokes and council leader, Nick Adams-King personally attended to scrape it off.
The MP said: “Cllr Nick Adams-King and I spent Sunday morning scraping green paint off the lenses of both cameras, but there is more to be done to get all the paint removed, but at least the lenses are clear and therefore more likely to act as a deterrent to speeding motorists.
“Numerous local residents had been in touch with us with regard to the cameras and after Highways England, who manage the A36, had ignored repeated requests to clean them up, we did it ourselves.”
