THE Holistic Healing Tree is holding a “Spooktacular Halloween Event” at Jubilee Hall, Bishop’s Waltham, on Sunday, October 27. The Mind Body Spirit Fair will feature tarot readers, holistic therapists, facepainting and more. The event lasts from 12pm to 3pm, with free parking available.

BISHOP’S Waltham Parish Council is looking for a new marketing, communications and events manager. This is a part-time (20 hours per week) role, responsible for promoting the Parish Council through effective internal and external multi-media communications, as well as organising and managing Parish Council events. The council is seeking an individual who can prioritise and organise a busy workload and communicate effectively, with the ability to work in a team and on their own initiative with a positive, enthusiastic approach. GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths required. Annual salary in the region of £28,282 pro rata, based on previous experience/qualifications. The role is initially for a two-year period.

ONE final reminder that the Pumpkin Patch is returning for its second year at Lycroft Farm, Park Lane, near Droxford/Upper Swanmore. There will be wand making, potion creation, wizard workshops, a broomstick academy, straw bale cinema, a café, plus more. Tickets on sale from October 1. The patch will be open 9am until 3pm on October 24 until October 27, and October 30 until November 3. A fright night event will take place on November 1, from 3pm until 7pm. THE final Give and Take event in Bishop’s Waltham is this weekend. The event will be at St George’s Square on Saturday, October 26 from 10.30am to 2.30pm. The theme is Halloween and Christmas, so bring any decorations, dressing up clothes, party items, or crafts and come for a browse to see what you'd like to take home.

A SPECIAL lecture on those who died during the World Wars will be held at St Barnabus Church in Swanmore on November 6. The event will be open from 6pm for tea and cake, before the talk begins at 7pm – it will last two hours with time set aside for questions. The lecture will be presented by Village War Memorial Custodian Gary McCulloch and resident Kerry Fox, as well as special guests. The talk is around the lives of those who the village remembers at this time of year as well as a bit of village history from the period of the Great War. This is going to be both an educational and an emotional evening, with introduction by Commodore Dean Bassett CBE Royal Navy and The Reverend Canon Nick Whitehead.

Tickets are limited, with more than half already sold, and are £10 each with all proceeds being split evenly between the Royal British Legion, St Barnabas Church and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
