Replacing the old old pavilion at with a multi-use facility at River Park is to be welcomed.
The location has always been viewed as ideal, encompassing a large green area, close to Winchester city centre and bus station, facilitating ease of public access from around the district.
The fact that delays were caused by what seemingly could be viewed as an inability to make key decisions, not only cost thousands of pounds, but a more appropriate building structure lost.

Mike Caldwell's efforts were to achieve adequate funding for an ideal structure. Procrastination since 2015 (almost 10) years reduced much needed funding.
On a positive note, a new River Park Project has ultimately been given the go-ahead.
