Tickets have gone on sale for Winchester Hospice's first fundraising dinner.

The Purple Tie Dinner, which will take place on Saturday, December 7, aims to raise funds to support its work caring for those with life-limiting and terminal illnesses.

The event, held at The Guildhall, will feature a three-course meal, live music from Kasbah Swing Band and an auction.

Mandy Hickson, the first woman to pilot the Tornado GR4 on the front line, will be the guest speaker.

"It has been my privilege to continue this support in whatever way I can.

"The hospice is such an integral part of the healthcare that is provided in Winchester.

"I know this only too well as when we sadly lost my mother-in-law two years ago, the hospice provided the most outstanding care we could ever imagine.

"The Purple Tie Dinner will not just be a fundraising event but will be a great celebration of all that it stands for."

Tables of 10 are available for £1,250, with individual tickets priced at £125 each.
