I REFER to P J Sowerby's letter in your last issue, expressing joy at the new Government's intention to "strengthen" the Hunting Act.
One wonders if Mr Sowerby is aware that his hero, Tony Blair, has reportedly expressed regret that it took seven years and 700 hours of Parliamentary debate to get the original act onto the Statute Books.
I wonder if Kier Starmer, with his new and inexperienced Government apparently unravelling around him is prepared to devote a similar amount of time to a subject which pales into insignificance beside Ukraine/Russia, Israel/Gaza and China/Taiwan.
With Christmas fast approaching, may we look forward to Mr Sowerby's annual audit of the lights around Romsey to make sure that there are not too many blue lamps in the decorations?
