Winchester Cathedral's Christmas market has been named among the best to visit in the UK for 2024, as part of a new list.
The Times pulled together 18 Christmas markets taking place in 2024 which go into "full festive overdrive".
Discussing the creation of the list, the paper wrote: "The winter months bring a burst of magic to Britain’s towns and cities, which go into full festive overdrive as Christmas markets open around the country.
"Streets and squares are transformed by spectacular light displays and hundreds of brightly decorated wooden stalls filled with last-minute Christmas gift ideas.
"Join the party in pop-up bars and street-food stalls to a soundtrack of carol singers and live bands, and fill up on festive treats when you’re not riding a giant ferris wheel or gliding around an ice rink."

"When you’re not checking out the stalls in the British Crafts Village, try some of the amazing food on offer, including mac ’n’ cheese at the Mac Shack and a hog roast and halloumi roll at Wild Garlic Catering — and listen out for the soothing sounds of the cathedral’s choir services throughout December."
