A MAN has been charged with assaulting security guards at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
Officers were called to a report of an incident at the hospital in Romsey Road at 5.49am on Tuesday October 15.
One of the security guards sustained a serious leg injury during the incident and required hospital treatment.
Two others were assaulted but did not sustain serious injuries.
Officers arrested a man at the scene.
Jamie-Lee Terry Clarke, 33, of no fixed abode, has been charged with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, two counts of assault by beating, and two counts of racially/religiously aggravated common assault/beating.
He has also been charged with common assault of an emergency worker, which relates to a subsequent incident at the Northern Police Investigation Centre in Basingstoke.
Clarke is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday October 16).
