A Winchester bridal hair stylist has been named a finalist for a top industry award.
Laura Denny, from Alida K, has been shortlisted in the wedding hair stylist category at The Wedding Industry Awards 2025.
The regional winners will be announced in November, with the national finals taking place in January 2025. The regional winners are selected based on client feedback and the opinion of an expert judging panel.
Ms Denny has had a busy year, launching a new podcast and having her work published in online blogs and magazines. She has also styled for 32 weddings so far this year, with another 12 to go before the end of 2024.
She said: "As someone who is highly self-critical of my own work, entering the awards was more of a personal challenge to push myself outside of my comfort zone and see what I'm capable of than a genuine belief in my chances of winning.
"Becoming a finalist was a mixture of shock and elation, I’m honoured to be up against 6 other fantastic stylists and can’t wait to meet everyone at the awards night in November.
"Winning the regional award would be a monumental personal achievement and something I'd be immensely proud of.
"No matter the outcome in November I’m delighted to be shortlisted and I’m so incredibly grateful for my clients' trust and support, I look forward to continuing to create beautiful hairstyles for many years to come."
Damian Bailey, founder of The Wedding Industry Awards, said: "Since 2011 The Wedding Industry Awards has been dedicated to recognising and rewarding excellence in the wedding industry and this year’s Regional Finalists are clearly at the top of their game.
“Our awards are unique as they are voted by recent wedding couples and it’s not the total number of votes that companies receive that leads to success.
"Instead, we focus on the quality of the feedback they get from eligible couples, amongst other things. Larger companies and talented individuals compete on a level playing field and the best wedding suppliers always rise to the top."
