THE mother of a Winchester teenager is searching for justice after her daughter was assaulted at a skate park.

The assault took place at the skate park in Park Avenue, near the former leisure centre, on Friday, October 4.

The mother, who asked to remain anonymous, said that her daughter was assaulted by a gang of 15-year-old girls, while other teenagers stood around and recorded the incident, with the beating only ceasing when a passerby intervened.

The girl’s mother said that the attack has left her “absolutely devastated”, saying: “It has taken all my power not to do something about it.”

She continued: “We have had a lot of support from the community. There are a lot of people who have said it has happened to their kids as well. Nothing seems to be done because they are minors.

“We want our justice, and I think people in the area need to know what has happened because this has happened more than once to different people.”

“People need to be warned about it.”

A police spokesman has said that an investigation into the assault is underway. The spokesman said: “It was reported that a teenage girl was assaulted by three other teenage girls at the skate park on Park Avenue, Winchester.

“This happened at about 6.40pm on October 4. The girl was left with minor injuries.

“This is currently under investigation.”
