Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) want residents' opinions on its draft safety plan.

The plan outlines the service's direction for the next five years, detailing the risks, challenges, and objectives.

It also proposes steps to prevent and respond to emergencies.

The public's views are sought on whether these objectives and proposals meet the community's needs.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Shantha Dickinson said: "We are always looking for ways to improve as an organisation serving the public.

"The role of a modern-day firefighter continues to evolve, and we are looking for new and innovative ways to protect the people across Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

"We need the help of our communities to tell us if they agree with our objectives, the proposals we have to achieve them, and if they feel we have missed anything from our plan."

The Safety Plan for 2025-2030 was created after assessing community risks, call-out frequency and budget.

It reflects the risks and concerns of Hampshire and Isle of Wight residents.

The survey is open to all residents and workers in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and can be completed in a few minutes.

To take part, go to smartsurvey.co.uk/s/FWTQE5.

It closes at midnight on December 18, 2024.
