A stage adaptation of the beloved children's story, The Smartest Giant in Town, will be coming to Winchester.
Theatre Royal Winchester will host the production from Saturday, October 26 to Sunday, October 27.
The story, penned by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, follows George, a giant who transforms from the scruffiest to the smartest in town after discovering a shop selling giant-sized clothes.
His new outfit, however, becomes a source of trouble when he encounters animals in need of his help. The production, filled with puppets and musical adventures, explores themes of friendship and altruism.
It is a collaboration between Little Angel Theatre and Fierylight Productions. Little Angel Theatre has previously enjoyed success with adaptations of Donaldson's The Singing Mermaid and The Everywhere Bear.
Fierylight Productions is known for featuring beloved children's characters such as Bing, Peppa Pig, Ben & Holly, and the Teletubbies in its productions.
The Smartest Giant in Town will be staged at Theatre Royal Winchester at various times on both days. The production is recommended for children aged three and above.
