A moving tribute to First World War soldiers is set to take the stage.

John Nichol's The Unknown Warrior will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on October 25.

The play tells the story of the Unknown Warrior, who was buried at Westminster Abbey to symbolise the many British soldiers who died without a known grave between 1914 and 1918.

The tale follows the Unknown Warrior's journey from Northern France's battlefields to his final resting place, exploring themes of sacrifice, camaraderie, and remembrance.

The show is presented by retired RAF navigator John Nichol, a former Gulf War prisoner-of-war who has written numerous military history books, including Spitfire – A Very British Love Story.

The production, featuring haunting visuals and evocative soundscapes, is brought to the stage by Norwell Lapley Productions Ltd.

The company is currently touring shows by TV scamming expert Nick Stapleton and comedian Dom Joly, as well as stage adaptations of the classic children's lift-the-flap book Dear Zoo, and Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's Tales from Acorn Wood.

The Unknown Warrior will be performed at Theatre Royal Winchester at 7.30pm on October 25.
