A new project to restore hedgerows across Hampshire will be discussed at an upcoming event.
The talk, titled The Hampshire Hedge Project, will take place on Tuesday, October 22, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Crosfield Hall in Romsey.
All proceeds raised from the talk will go towards the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
Ellie Banks, hedgerow project officer for CPRE Hampshire, will explain the aims of the project which connects the New Forest and the South Downs National Parks with green corridors of hedgerows and wild spaces.

Over a three-year period, the CPRE Hampshire initiative will work with communities, schools, landowners, and farmers to restore a network of 12 to 14 miles of hedgerows.
These are important for native wildlife, flood management, and climate adaptation.
The project has been launched following the alarming fact that half of the UK’s hedgerows have been lost since 1945.
The event, organised by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, offers an opportunity to learn more about the vital role hedgerows play in the ecosystem and the importance of their restoration.
Tickets can be booked in advance via the HIWWT website, eventbrite, or via cash payment on the night itself.
