A CHINESE takeaway restaurant on a busy Winchester road has been handed a poor food hygiene rating.
Hong Kong Star on North Walls was given a one-out-of-five score after an inspection by Winchester City Council on behalf of the Food Standards Agency.
The report said that there was "improvement necessary" in the restaurant's hygienic food handling and "major improvement necessary" in its management of food safety.
While the inspection was carried out on May 30, the rating has not changed since then.
If a business is awarded a low food hygiene rating, it has the right to ask for another inspection. After this inspection is conducted any change in the rating is updated online.
The Chronicle approached Hong Kong Star for comment, but received no reply.
