A HAMPSHIRE country pub has been handed a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
The Otter in Otterbourne was judged to be below the acceptable standard in two of the three categories examined: cleanliness of the premises (improvement necessary) and management of food safety (major improvement necessary).
The inspection was carried out on August 19 by Winchester City Council for the Food Standards Agency at the pub on Boyatt Lane.
If a business is awarded a low food hygiene rating, it has the right to ask for another inspection. After this inspection is conducted any change in the rating is updated online.
However, The Otter Inn's score has not changed since the inspection almost two months ago.
The Chronicle approached The Otter for comment, but it did not reply.
