THE jury has been sworn at the trial of a Hampshire farmer accused of manslaughter.
Philip Tickner, 63, of Upper Lanham, Old Alresford, stands accused of killing his employee Philip France, 57 at the time of his death, through gross negligence.
Mr France suffered fatal injuries in an incident during the demolition of a cow shed in June 2021.
Tickner's trial began today, Thursday, October 3, at Winchester Crown Court with the judge Mrs Justice Eady.

Tickner pleaded not guilty to manslaughter through gross negligence on November 22 last year.
The jury is made up of eight men and four women.
Prosecuting during the trial will be Mark Watson KC assisted by Thomas Coke-Smyth, while the defence is led by Malcolm Galloway, whose assistant is Ms Lucy Wright.
The trial will continue on the morning of Friday, October 4.
