A Winchester café-bar has been named one of the UK's most 'groundbreaking' coffee shops.
Cabinet Rooms received the honour in BRITA Professional's Grounds of Innovation Awards, which highlights their commitment to quality, creativity, and community.
The café-bar, which opened in 2017 in Jewry Street, is the only Hampshire venue to make the list.
It was recognised alongside coffee shops in Bristol, London, Liverpool, and other locations across the UK.
The venue is described as a 'cultural hub' and is used to host a number of activities including a Menopause Café, a book group, and a secret underground film society.
The café is located just a short walk from the train station and the High Street, making it a popular spot for visitors to the city.
It serves speciality coffee from Extract Coffee Roasters, and rotates a selection of guest roasts.
To celebrate the recent recognition, Cabinet Rooms will host a series of events throughout October, coinciding with UK Coffee Week (October 14-20).
On Thursday, October 17, there will be a special tasting event, or 'cupping', which will be the first public showcase of Extract Coffee Roasters' brand new single-origin range.
There will also be a chance to try Discarded Spirits Co’s sweet cascara vermouth.
The venue recently took part in Espresso Martini Fest, featuring its bartender’s creative spins on the classic cocktail.
As a result, a new praline martini has been added to the cocktail menu.
Gary Whiter, co-owner of Cabinet Rooms, said: "We’ve always been passionate about food and drink and creating a safe space for like-minded people has been central to our mission.
"Being recognised as one of the most groundbreaking coffee shops in the UK is a huge honour.
"We’re excited to celebrate this achievement with the community we’ve built and to welcome more visitors to Winchester."
