WINCHESTER Hospice is bringing back its charity walk for the second year running to gather funds for local people with terminal illnesses.
On Saturday October 5, the six-kilometre Purple Night Walk will start at Pilgrims School and finish at Winchester Cathedral.
Participants will receive medals as a token of their efforts. Last year's event drew hundreds of local residents and raised more than £4,000.

Since opening, it has helped more than 1,000 individuals at the hospice with another 500 receiving care in their homes or the community.
Taking part this year for the first time is the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Russell Gordon-Smith, who said: "The dedicated team at Winchester Hospice offers such compassionate care to adults with life-limiting illnesses who live in our district.

"Fundraising is crucial to the charity’s ability to carry on this important service, so I am delighted to join their Purple Night Walk this autumn to help shine a spotlight on all the good work that they do."
The registration fee is a mere £10 per person. Participants are encouraged to collect additional sponsorship funds, if possible.
