AS I write this letter on the eve of another parking charge price rise, the residents of Q and R permit holders are still awaiting for a response that was sent to their three local councillors, Martin Tod, Chris Westwood, Lucille Thompson and Kelsie Learney, air quality guru, on July 21, 2024.

The residents are being disrespected and disregarded over their concerns about parking problems in the affected streets. They had asked to be in attendance at a meeting that was to be held but no one had the courtesy to reply to that request, and for the attention of Councillor Kelsie Learney the residents have never asked to park outside their houses but to have concessionary parking be reinstated.

The councillors for some reason are refusing to speak to them, which is quite baffling as the concerns are genuine.

All they want to know is are they going to help or not as they can only change the policy not the Council officials, which has been pointed out to them.

In the Q and R zone area, there are over one hundred dedicated spaces made available for HCC and WCC employees to use so it’s very confusing why the residents are unable to use any of these spaces. The councillors surely have some form of duty to respond to the residents otherwise what is the point of them if it’s left to the Council officials, who manage policy not make policy.

I write this of my volition and not on behalf of the residents.
