People across the nation are being invited to take part in a week-long celebration of UK Parliament.
UK Parliament Week (UKPW) is an annual event designed to raise awareness about the role of Parliament and encourage public involvement.
The event will take place from November 18 to 24 and is open to everyone in the constituency. Youth groups, community organisations, and schools have already signed up to participate this year.
Last year, more than 1.6 million people from every region of the UK and numerous countries worldwide took part.
Those who register will receive a free kit filled with resources, including a booklet with information and activity ideas, a ballot box, bunting, stickers, and a unique card game.
This year's UKPW will also highlight the various roles and individuals who help keep Parliament running, as stated by Caroline Nokes, MP for Romsey and Southampton North.
Caroline Nokes MP said: "I’m looking forward to seeing many groups and organisations across Romsey and Southampton North join in and welcome this to come together to find out about the work of the UK Parliament."
Fran Jeens, head of education and engagement at UK Parliament, said: "UK Parliament Week is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get informed about how they can engage with UK Parliament to make a difference. Every year it’s fantastic to see so many people actively take part in UK Parliament Week. We look forward to lots of UKPW activities taking place in Romsey and Southampton North."
