A WINCHESTER man has been banned from the road for driving while under the influence of drugs.
William Simpson, 33, of Bere Close, Weeke, was stopped by police on the A287 near Hook on Monday, April 1, a court heard.
A blood test was undertaken, with Simpson returning a result of 6 µg/L of cannabis in his blood, three times the legal limit of 2 µg/L.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 10, Simpson pleaded guilty to the offence.
He has been banned from the road for 12 months.
Simpson has also been fined £297, and must also pay a £119 victim surcharge and costs of £85. The total amount of £501 must be paid by October 10, the court ordered.
