AN ALRESFORD man has been banned from the road for drink driving.
Charles McCowen, 46, of Malthouse Lane, Bighton, was stopped by police in West Lane, Alresford, on Thursday, August 22, a court heard.
McCowen underwent a breath test, returning a result of 69mg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than double the legal limit of 35mg.

Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 10, he pleaded guilty to the offence.
He has been banned from driving for 17 months, with the chance to reduce that time by 17 weeks if he completes a course by August 13 next year.
McCowen has also been fined £1,270, and must also pay a £508 victim surcharge and £85 costs. The full total of £1,863 will be paid in monthly instalments of £622 starting on September 30.
