ROMSEY Town Council’s planning committee has discussed a number of applications at its latest meeting.
Councillors considered 14 applications submitted to Test Valley Borough Council.
The committee, which was chaired by Cllr Mark Cooper, heard from public speaker Jerry Vaughn, who asked if the council would object to Mark Perress’s application in Oxlease Meadows. After discussion, the committee announced it would support Mr Vaughn’s objection.
Member had no objections to any of the other applications discussed.
Matthew Campbell, of Tadburn Road, has applied for permission to build a single storey rear extension, first floor side extension, and loft conversion including provision of a dormer.
Marinanne Hawker, of Nightingale Close, has submitted a planning application to construct a single storey ground floor rear extension.
Mr Derrick, of Romsey Road, has applied to add a single storey side extension to his property. While the committee decided not to object to the application, Cllr Russell Theron remarked that this is the second application concerning this property submitted to TVBC in the last 12 months, and voiced concerns that the site might be overdeveloped.
Mr and Mrs Booth, of Chambers Avenue, have applied to demolish a single storey side extension, outbuilding and garage and replace it with a two-storey side extension, replacement garage and alterations to first floor window. While the committee did not object to this application, Cllr Theron noted that the property had RAAC concrete used in its initial construction.
The next application discussed concerned Mr and Mrs Froome’s plans for alterations to the fenestration and entrance porch of their property in Woodley Lane. The application also covers converting the roof space to form a first floor, installing dormer windows and roof lights.
Carole Lister and Sarah Durrant, of St Blaize Road, applied to build a single storey front extension, while T. Kelpie, of Canal Walk, applied to convert a garage and build a front floor extension.
The other applications discussed work to various trees around Romsey.
The next meeting of the Romsey Town Council Planning Committee will be held on Thursday, October 3.
