Tesco shoppers in Hampshire have a chance to win a share of £500,000 for local schools or children’s groups this Saturday.
As part of the supermarket’s Stronger Starts campaign, shoppers at Southampton’s Butts Road Express store or the Lee Solent Marine Express store on Pier Street can participate in a lucky dip between 12pm and 1pm to find a gold version of Tesco’s blue voting token.
Customers who find a gold token can choose which of the three selected local schools or children’s groups will receive a £5,000 Golden Grant.
This grant will be used for equipment or healthy food to help give children a stronger start in life.

Claire De Silva, Tesco head of communities, said: "Schools and local projects are vital in supporting our children and our communities.
"We’re giving customers the chance to make a difference to a school or group that’s doing amazing work on their doorstep."
Golden Grants are awarded twice a year as part of the Tesco Stronger Starts, an £8m grant programme in partnership with Groundwork UK.
The grants are intended to help schools and children’s groups provide nutritious food and healthy activities.

Since 2016, Tesco has given more than £100million to over 50,000 local schools and community groups.
