A NEW social media channel set up by a professional hula-hooper from Winchester is exploring Britain's rich history.
The exciting and unconventional journey into Britain’s rich history is called Hoops N'History and has been launched by Amy “HoopLovin” Guerrier, a professional storyteller.
Streaming now on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok, Hoops N' History promises to deliver history like never before.
Amy’s unique blend of historical insight, engaging storytelling, and vibrant hula-hooping performances breathe new life into Britain’s most beloved, and some often-overlooked landmarks.
Her fresh approach to history merges catchy, original songs and eye-catching performances with the rich narratives of the nation’s heritage. Expect bite-sized, entertaining videos packed with fascinating facts and unforgettable moments, all while Amy hula-hoops her way through history.
The channel made its debut at Winchester’s Westgate, a fortified 12th-Century gateway with a storied past. Using a mix of drone and hand-held camera footage, Amy can be seen hula-hooping on the rooftop, inside the museum, and beneath the historic arch – once an integral part of the city’s defensive walls.
With Hoops N' History, Amy aims to spark curiosity and inspire a new generation of history lovers, offering a playful but informative way to learn about Britain’s past.
She said: “We’ve already recorded 12 episodes, and I can’t wait to share them with everyone week by week. This is a refreshing way for attractions to tell their story, and I’m looking forward to connecting with more incredible places as the channel grows."
Amy works closely with curators and historians to ensure her scripts are accurate, and upcoming episodes will feature interviews with experts, who might even learn to hula-hoop themselves.
Hoops N' History is available on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok at @hoopsnhistory
