A FREE event packed with exciting activities for all ages will return for a second year to celebrate the vibrant businesses at Kings Walk in Winchester.
The Kings Walk Festival is back for its second year, on Saturday, September 28, following the success of last year’s event.
This celebration of Winchester’s creative quarter will take place from 10am to 5pm, offering a unique mix of art, food, music, and sustainable fashion.
Best of all, many of the activities are free.
Kings Walk is home to an eclectic range of independent businesses, and this year’s festival will showcase them alongside local creative talent, with a focus on sustainability and young creators.
From hands-on craft workshops to free tasters, it’s a chance for everyone to get involved, try something new, and support local independent businesses.
Highlights will included a pre-loved sale at The Nutshell, Sashiko embroidery workshop with The Well Worn, make and take with BellaCraft where people can upcycle pretty glass designs, hands-on pottery and tufting workshops at Design Junction, free acting and musical theatre taster classes for children and teens at The Nutshell, a pilates taster sessions at Winchester Pilates, including Reformer and Mat classes.
There will also be a street food barbecue with live DJs at South Downs Social, delicious brunch specials at Open House Deli, and free bicycle safety checks at the newly opened Exo.
In the courtyard there will be live musical performances and Hampshire Poets will be creating beautiful poetry about the festival in real time.
Plus, the first 250 visitors will receive a free Kings Walk tote bag.
Belinda Sampson from BellaCrafts said: “We’re so excited to welcome the community back to Kings Walk for this year’s Festival. Last year’s event was a huge success, and it’s a great opportunity for us to showcase the creativity and uniqueness in this special corner of Winchester. We can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
