EVERYTHING to do with the countryside will be celebrated this weekend at the Hampshire Countryside Day.
The Hampshire Countryside Day at Bereleigh Estate promises a great day out with a packed programme including new attractions.
There will be a variety of ‘have a go’ activities and competitions, demonstrations and plenty of shopping options, ensuring there’s something for everyone who enjoys rural life and traditions.
The event is sponsored by SHORTS plant hire and waste management and will also proudly support the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
It takes place on Sunday, September at the Bereleigh Estate in East Meon, near Petersfield.
It will an array of packs at its Hound Parade, offering displays and expert insights, as well as displays from Hawking About Falconry.
The Hunt Scurry returns with its fast-paced inter-hunt relay, while Gamegoer from the West Country demonstrates dog training techniques for working and competitions.
The Clay Shoot will be run by Duncan Jeans and his team from Chalky Hill Clay Shoot, offering competition and ‘have a go’ sessions.
Chris Green the Countryman, has a new demo: 'The Importance of Pest Control' in which he’ll explain the crow and pigeon shooters' world, which will involve dog retrieves.
And new for this year, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will have a flight simulator to give a unique and immersive experience of a helicopter rescue.
All dogs are welcome to take part in the Fun Dog Show, Gun Dog Scurry or the Terrier and not so Terrier racing.
This year the show has a re-vamped fishing area offering ‘have a go’ casting. The area will also welcome Chalk Stream Foods, and Wild Fish for the first time.
There will be more than 80 trade stands, with lots of new exhibitors offering a range of top-quality crafts, gifts, clothing and food and drink.
The show runs from 9.30am until 5pm. Entry on the day: £15 adults, under 16s go free, or you can pre-book on line from ticketsource.co.uk/hcsd .
